This family has been on my blog a lot. Which I love because I really love watching clients kiddos grow up before my lens! I redid my website last year and this family was one of the families I had recently photographed. So it was easly to make sure their sessions were moved over first. They have also had several photo sessions in a short timeframe from engagement to newborn to milestones thereafter. They bring the most fun attitude to play with their little one and of course you can see their style is always on point, too! Such an easy family to highlight on the blog. Plus, I mean look at little L. His curls and big beautiful eyes are a photographer’s dream.

This year we did a more formal and fun family holiday session for one of my weekday mini-session slot times. I loved seeing a different style like a formal attire paired the the urban location. I will share another family session from the same night to share how different style works here just as well, too. They kept it much more casual but still stepped up style with their kids’ own personal coming through in each of their outfits, too.

Downtown Tampa is such a lovely backdrop for a unique photo session. The river gives the opportunity for water views, but the various architecture that surrounds the water front also provides loads of differnt looks in a small area. The minarets of The University of Tampa really glow at sunset this time of year, so that is always fun for Tampa families who know that skyline so well. If you are a Tampa family looking for holiday photos for next year, I sure hope this location is back open for photo session permitting by then. It is such a great spot, but even if Kiley Garden is not open, there are other public park areas that offer similar vantage points along the water front and downtown area, like Curtis Hixon Park. I love an urban family photo session but doing it where kids still have space to run is key for families with younger kids wanting family pictures downtown.

Sometimes the mood just hits for couples for a bit moodier edit

A few of my favorites were taken at the very end of our session using black and white film. This family let me try a roll of black and white at L’s newborn session so it seemed only fitting to save a few frames of film from the roll I had used on a client that week for this family. They are absolutely some of my favorites from the session for sure. I am still adding film to sessions for clients at an introductory rate for the first part of 2023, so if you think you may want a few extra images at your next session included with the price of the film, make sure to ask about it at booking!
